Kathleen Hood, PMHNP
Kathleen graduated from Laboure College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, from Curry College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, and from Regis College with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. She has worked in the healthcare field for over 16 years. She is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Kathleen originally became a nurse because when she was 12 she had a spinal fusion for scoliosis, and had a nurse who was not super nice, so she decided she wanted to become a nice nurse. Throughout her nursing career she saw the growing need for mental health care in the area and how resources were so lacking. The lack of resources paired with the fact that one of Kathleen’s favorite parts of bedside nursing was talking and connecting with patients, is what led to Kathleen going back to school to become a PMHNP.
As a nurse practitioner, Kathleen believes in a patient-centered approach to care, and working together as a team to reach your goals. Her therapeutic approach is based around empathy and compassion. She looks forward to being a part of your journey towards overall health and happiness.
